Cleaning the O-Ring on the Lid

This tutorial demonstrates how to remove the O-Ring from the lid, clean it, lubricate it and return it to service.

Remove the lid from the chamber

Use a flat screw drive or flat stick to remove the O-Ring

Use a flat screw drive or flat stick to remove the O-Ring. Be careful not to cut it.

Clean the O-ring with a rag
Clean the O-ring with a rag. If it has not been cleaned in awhile use some soap or cleanser.

Apply a generous amount of Petroleum Jelly – “Vaseline”. Spread completely around the O-Ring. DO NOT USE GREASE, only Petroleum Jelly.

Stretch the O-Ring back over the O-Ring groove and secure in place
