Compression Gland Gaskets and Inserts

The Compression Gland Gasket and Insert can be quickly removed by un-screwing the Compression Gland Screw, removing the insert and gasket and replacing them with the desired sized gasket and insert. For a tutorial on this click here.

The Friction Washer fits between the Compression Gland Screw and the Compression Gland Insert. It simply keeps the metal from rubbing and chafing. If you need a replacement, contact us directly.

CAUTION! – Always fit the appropriate sized insert with appropriate sized gasket to ensure the sample does not extrude or shoot out of the lid. 1/2 inch Compression Gland Base should be used only with the 3/8 and 1/2 inch sealing systems. 1/4 inch Compression Gland Base should be used with 1/8, 1/4 and Almond sealing systems. Grass Compression Gland System should be used only with Grass Compression Gland Base.

1/8 Inch Sealing System

  • 1/8 Inch diameter adjustable hole (~3mm).
  • 3/4 Inch minimum sample length (~19mm).
  • Recommended for Almond, Prune, Conifer needles, and other similar sized petioles.
  • Range of compression: 1/8 Inch – Closed
  • Additionally works with Pump-Up Large Lid

  • 3/4 Inch minimum sample length (~19mm).
  • Recommended for Wine Grape, Walnut, Conifer branches, and other similar sized petioles.
  • Range of compression: 1/4 Inch – Closed
  • Additionally works with Pump-Up Large Lid

Grass Compression Gland

  • Oval shape adjustable hole (1/8 Inch wide X 3/4 Inch long slit).
  • 3/4 Inch minimum sample length (~19mm).
  • Recommended for bladed grass, corn, or other flat petiole samples
  • Range of compression: 1/8 Inch wide to completely closed.
  • Additionally works with Pump-Up Grass Lid
  • Requires Grass Compression Gland Base – As shown in far right picture
